In March 2021, we experienced a pain no parent should ever endure, we lost our precious daughter, Aaish Haseeb, at just 8 months and 22 days old. Born during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic on June 25, 2020, Aaish entered the world as a healthy 2.7 kg (approximately 5.95 pounds) baby girl, full of life, light, and promise.
However, within weeks, our world began to unravel.
What began as a routine post-birth period soon turned into a nightmare of medical negligence, when Aaish was exposed to a hospital-induced hepatitis infection at a local medical facility. By the age of three months, she was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening liver condition called Biliary Atresia - a disorder where the bile ducts are blocked or absent, preventing the liver from functioning properly.
From that moment on, life changed forever.

Aaish’s story is not just ours; it's a symbol of thousands of unheard stories across Pakistan. And we’re here to be their voice.
Months of Age

We consulted some of the best doctors and top hospitals across the country. We left no stone unturned, seeking second, third, and fourth opinions, tirelessly exploring treatment options. Aaish was soon scheduled for a liver transplant at Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), a leading liver transplant facility in Pakistan. She would have been the first infant to undergo a transplant at the institute, our hopes were high, and preparations were underway.
But fate had a different plan.
In a heartbreaking twist, further negligence by a renowned hospital in Valencia, Lahore, cost us more than we could have ever imagined. Our beautiful Aaish was taken away from us too soon - before we could even get her the life-saving procedure she needed.
Her passing shattered our world.

However, in our deepest grief, we found a new purpose. We realized that no family should face such trauma alone, nor should they be denied care because of limited resources or system failures. Through the pain, we were shown a path to transform loss into light, and grief into giving.
This is how The Aaish Foundation was born.
